Sec. 5. Definitions. In this Act:
"Armed forces of the United States" means the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard, the United States Reserve Forces, or the Illinois National Guard. Service in the merchant marine is not service in the armed forces for purposes of this Act.
"Department" means the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs.
