Sec. 24.1. The item "electronic data processing" means, and when used in an appropriation act, includes all expenditures incurred for the lease, rental or purchase of electronic data processing equipment and related devices, supplies, services, material and space therefor, and personal services needed, including expenditures for the acquisition of electronic data processing equipment under multi-year lease, lease-purchase or installment purchase contracts for terms of not more than 7 years.
Funds appropriated for electronic data processing may be expended to pay any penalty resulting from the cancellation of a multi-year agreement or contract required because funds are not appropriated for the continuation of the multi-year agreement or contract.
