Sec. 17. Report to Governor and General Assembly. It shall be the duty of the inspector of mines within 3 months after January 1, in each year to make a report directed to the Governor and legislature of this State, giving a statistical summary and report of the work of the inspector of mines during the previous year ended December 31. Such report shall contain a statement showing the number of people employed in each mine in the State, stating separately the number of people employed above ground and underground, the number and nature of fatal and serious accidents occurring in each mine, the number of inspections made, complaints filed, inquests attended, mines ordered to be vacated, violations found, and any other information deemed important and relevant by the inspector of mines, together with such recommendations as, in the judgment of the inspector of mines, are necessary or desirable to the carrying out of this Act and to insure the health and safety of the workers employed within the mines, subject to the provisions of this Act.
Such report shall be published in and made a part of the annual coal report.
