Sec. 5. Declaration of public policy. The practice of music therapy is hereby declared to affect the public health, safety, and welfare and to be subject to regulation in the public interest. The purpose of this Act is to ensure the highest degree of professional conduct on the part of music therapists, to guarantee the availability of music therapy services provided by a qualified professional to persons in need of those services, and to protect the public from the practice of music therapy by unqualified individuals.
