Sec. 13-505.5. Requests for new noncompetitive services. Any party may petition the Commission to request the provision of a noncompetitive service not currently provided by a local exchange carrier within its service territory. The Commission shall grant the petition, provided that it can be demonstrated that the provisioning of the requested service is technically and economically practicable considering demand for the service, and absent a finding that provision of the service is otherwise contrary to the public interest.
The Commission shall render its decision within 180 days after the filing of the petition unless extension of the time period is agreed to by all the parties to the proceeding.
