Sec. 30. Administration of the Agency. The Executive Director shall be the chief executive officer and head of the Agency. The Board, based upon the recommendation of the Governor, shall appoint the Executive Director with the advice and consent of the Senate. The Executive Director shall serve for a term commencing on the date of appointment until January 18, 2027, and until a successor has been appointed and qualified. Thereafter, the Executive Director's term shall be as provided in Section 5-610 of the Departments of State Government Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois.
The Board may remove the Executive Director for incompetence, neglect of duty, or malfeasance. The Executive Director shall, subject to applicable provisions of law and consistent with the policies and advice of the Board, execute and discharge the powers and duties of the Agency. The Executive Director may make provision to establish and collect admission and registration fees, operate a gift shop, and publish and sell educational and informational materials.
