Sec. 2705-500. Scenic route connecting Mississippi and Ohio Rivers. The Department shall prepare or have prepared maps, surveys, or plans, shall conduct studies, and shall consult with the Department of Natural Resources for the purpose of proposing a route connecting the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers through the Shawnee National Forest, to be designated as a scenic route. The proposed route shall consist of existing roads to the greatest extent possible, but the proposal may call for any improvements consistent with federal law that the Department deems necessary or desirable.
The Department shall submit its proposal, along with any other supporting information it deems appropriate, to the Governor and the General Assembly no later than March 1, 1986.
