The department shall accept payment of fees under this chapter by personal or corporate check, cash, wire transfer, or other means allowed by the department. A fee shall be deemed to have been paid upon receipt of the payment in full. If the payment is not honored, all fees and penalties shall accumulate as if the fee were not paid. After appropriate warning from the department, the registration account shall be suspended, collection pursued, and the delinquent registration fees shall become a debt due the state of Iowa.
After a dishonored payment has been received from an applicant, payments submitted by the applicant during the following year must be made with guaranteed funds. However, the department may instead accept payment in the form of a corporate check made on behalf of the applicant from an approved company with a satisfactory payment history.
