§844D-61 Blood specimens, buccal swab samples, and print impressions shall be forwarded promptly to the department. The director of corrections and rehabilitation, the chief of police, or the administrator of the correctional facility, jail, or other facility at which the blood specimens, buccal swab samples, or print impressions were collected shall cause these specimens, samples, and print impressions to be forwarded promptly to the department. The specimens, samples, and print impressions shall be collected by a person using a department-approved collection kit and in accordance with the requirements and procedures set forth in section 844D-62.
