§288-3 Common carriers of passengers to be insured. It shall be unlawful for any motor vehicle common carrier of passengers to operate upon or use the public streets or highways of the several counties until it has filed with the treasurer or director of finance of the county in which it is to operate the written certificate of any insurer duly authorized to do business in the State certifying that there is in effect a policy of liability insurance for the benefit of the carrier.
