589.07 Florida Forest Service may acquire lands for forest purposes.

The Florida Forest Service, on behalf of the state and subject to the restrictions mentioned in s. 589.08 , may acquire lands, suitable for state forest purposes, by gift, donation, contribution, purchase, or otherwise and may enter into agreements with the Federal Government, or other agency, for acquiring by gift, purchase, or otherwise, such lands as are, in the judgment of the Florida Forest Service, suitable and desirable for state forests. The acquisition procedures for state lands provided in s. 253.025 do not apply to acquisition of land by the Florida Forest Service.
