550.1155 Authority of stewards, judges, panel of judges, or player’s manager to impose penalties against occupational licensees; disposition of funds collected.

(1)The stewards at a horse racetrack or the judges, a panel of judges, or a player’s manager at a jai alai fronton may impose a civil penalty against any occupational licensee for violation of the pari-mutuel laws or any rule adopted by the commission. The penalty may not exceed $1,000 for each count or separate offense or exceed 60 days of suspension for each count or separate offense.
(2)All penalties imposed and collected pursuant to this section at each horse racetrack or jai alai fronton shall be deposited into a board of relief fund established by the pari-mutuel permitholder. Each association shall name a board of relief composed of three of its officers, with the general manager of the permitholder being the ex officio treasurer of such board. Moneys deposited into the board of relief fund shall be disbursed by the board for the specific purpose of aiding occupational licenseholders and their immediate family members at each pari-mutuel facility.
