A university shall keep confidential information that a student provides to the university regarding a request for a referral for medication abortion, emergency contraception, or counseling regarding reproductive health care, to the extent that the information is not already protected as confidential under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) (42 U.S.C. § 1320d-2).
