Sec. 7-85. Calling in town orders for payment.

The treasurer of any town may, at any time, give notice to all persons holding orders drawn by the selectmen on the treasurer of such town to present them for payment on or before a certain day to be fixed in such notice, which shall be at least thirty days after the date thereof. Such notice shall be advertised for three weeks successively in a newspaper printed or having circulation in such town and be posted on the signposts therein, if any, or at some other exterior place near the office of the town clerk.
If any person holding an order, outstanding at the time of such notice, fails to present it for payment on or before the day fixed in such notice, no interest shall be allowed on it after such day.
