Any applicant who has been discriminated against as a result of a violation of section 36a-737 and the regulations adopted pursuant to sections 36a-735 to 36a-744 , inclusive, may bring an action in a court of competent jurisdiction. Upon finding that a financial institution is in violation of sections 36a-735 to 36a-744 , inclusive, the court may award damages, reasonable attorneys' fees and court costs. No class action shall be permitted pursuant to the provisions of this section.
Any applicant alleging a violation under this section shall do so in the applicant's own individual complaint and each case resulting from such complaints shall be heard on its own merits unless consolidation of such cases is agreed to by each defendant affected thereby.
