All moneys collected by the State Department of State Hospitals and the State Department of Developmental Services for the cost and charges of transportation of persons to state hospitals shall be remitted by the department to the State Treasury for credit to, and shall become a part of, the current appropriation from the General Fund of the state for the transportation of persons with mental health disorders, correctional school, or other state hospital patients and shall be available for expenditure for those purposes.
In lieu of exact calculations of moneys collected for transportation charges the department may determine the amount of collections by the use of those estimates or formula as approved by the Department of Finance.
