In any case in which a person is alleged to be a person described in Section 601 or 602, or subdivision
(a)of Section 604, and the age of the person is at issue and the court finds that a scientific or medical test would be of assistance in determining the age of the person, the court may consider ordering an examination of the minor using the method described in “The Permanent Mandibular Third Molar” from the Journal of Forensic Odonto-Stomatology, Vol. 1: No. 1: January–June 1983.
