No person serving as a member of the city selection committee shall be eligible for appointment to any salaried office or employment in the service of the district nor shall he become eligible for such appointment within one
(1)year after he has ceased to be a member of the city selection committee; provided, however, that, as provided in this part, members of the city selection committee may serve as directors of the district.
