(a)For the purposes of any levee evaluation activities funded by the department, the department shall not require a local cost-share for the following levee evaluations:
(1)Evaluations of levees that are part of the facilities of the State Plan of Flood Control.
(2)Evaluations of levees located in the Central Valley that are not part of the State Plan of Flood Control, and that protect an urban area, as defined by subdivision
(k)of Section 5096.805.
(3)Evaluations of levees chosen to be performed by the department as part of an effort to protect critical water conveyance infrastructure through the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta.
(b)The department shall identify the levees described in paragraph
(2)of subdivision
(a)in the Bond Expenditure Disaster Preparedness and Flood Prevention Plan described in Section 5096.820 and notify the Governor and the Legislature of the location of these levees.
