(a)The board shall establish family contribution amounts for purchasing credit members that are equivalent to the amounts charged to subscribers participating in the purchasing pool portion of the program. Purchasing credit members shall not be required to pay family contribution amounts greater than the cost to the applicant if the purchasing credit members were enrolled in the purchasing pool component of the program. When calculating the cost to the applicant to participate in the purchasing pool, the family contribution discounts provided in subdivisions (c), (d), and
(e)of Section 12693.34 shall not be considered. Purchasing credit members shall be eligible for dental and vision coverage through the purchasing pool at no additional premium charge.
(b)The family contribution amounts paid on behalf of a purchasing credit member may be paid directly to the applicant’s employer through a payroll deduction or other mechanism.
