§ 12414.25

(a)Any person, title insurer, underwritten title company, or controlled escrow company who fails to comply with a final order of the commissioner under this chapter shall be liable to the state in an amount not exceeding one hundred dollars ($100), but if that failure is willful he, she, or it shall be liable to the state in an amount not exceeding five thousand dollars ($5,000) for that failure. The commissioner shall collect the amount so payable and may bring an action in the name of the people of the State of California to enforce collection. Those penalties may be in addition to any other penalties provided by law.
(1)A willful violation of the provisions of this chapter is a misdemeanor.
(2)This subdivision is not applicable to Section 12389.7.
