The following definitions shall apply for purposes of this chapter:
(a)“County” means the County of San Luis Obispo.
(b)“Governing board” means the governing body of the hospital authority.
(c)“Hospital authority” means the separate public agency that may be established pursuant to this chapter by the San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors to manage, administer, and control General Hospital and the Family Care Centers.
(d)“General Hospital” means the licensed general acute care hospital that, as of January 1, 1999, owned and operated by the County of San Luis Obispo, together with all additions to, or replacements of, that facility.
(e)“Family care centers” means the outpatient, ambulatory care clinic facilities that are, as of January 1, 1999, licensed as part of General Hospital, as well as all additional or replacement outpatient facilities that may be licensed as part of General Hospital after January 1, 1999.
