If the voters approve a tax ordinance pursuant to this title, the district shall establish an independent oversight committee within six months of the effective date of the tax increase to ensure that any revenues generated pursuant to this title are distributed and transferred by the district consistent with the applicable requirements set forth in this chapter. The committee may be consolidated with the oversight committee established pursuant to subdivision
(h)of Section 30923 of the Streets and Highways Code. The committee shall consist of either one or two representatives from each county included within the jurisdiction of the district appointed by the applicable county board of supervisors. The oversight committee may request any documents from the district to assist the committee in performing its functions.
