§ 56036.6

(a)For the purposes of Chapter 1 (commencing with Section 57000) to Chapter 7 (commencing with Section 57176), inclusive, of Part 4 or Part 5 (commencing with Section 57300), none of the following entities is a “district” or “special district” if the commission of the principal county determines, in accordance with Sections 56127 and 56128, that the entity is not a “district” or “special district”:
(1)A flood control district.
(2)A flood control and floodwater conservation district.
(3)A flood control and water conservation district.
(4)A conservation district.
(5)A water conservation district.
(6)A water replenishment district.
(7)The Orange County Water District.
(8)A California water storage district.
(9)A water agency.
(10)A county water authority or a water authority.
(b)If the commission determines that an entity described in this section is not a “district” or “special district,” any proceedings pursuant to Part 4 (commencing with Section 57000) for a change of organization involving the entity shall be conducted pursuant to the principal act authorizing the establishment of that entity.
