It is the intent of the Legislature that the University of California conduct an evaluation on the effectiveness of the California State Summer School for Mathematics and Science every two years from July 7, 1999. The evaluation shall include a description of the planning conducted and actions taken to increase the participation of subgroups of pupils who are traditionally underrepresented in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics
(STEM)professional fields, including pupils who are low-income.
