The Chancellor of the California Community Colleges shall establish an advisory committee for the Statewide Energy Management Program, and determine the membership of that committee. The advisory committee, with technical assistance from the commission, shall make recommendations to the chancellor regarding overall program development, resource development and deployment, and strategies for implementation and coordination of the program. A leadership role on this committee shall initially be provided by the staff of the commission and DeAnza College who have been involved since 1992 in a joint effort to promote training, energy efficiency, and energy independence in the California Community Colleges.
This leadership role shall rotate to other community colleges as they complete their own district energy management plans.
