(a)On or before January 1, 2010, the Division of the State Architect within the Department of General Services shall develop uniform criteria for precheck approval processes for solar design plans, including structural plans and calculations, for a school facility that comply with rules and regulations adopted pursuant to this article and building standards published in Title 24 of the California Code of Regulations. The criteria shall include provisions to ensure fire and life safety.
(b)The Department of General Services shall complete the review of a solar design plan application submitted by a school district that conforms with the criteria established pursuant to subdivision
(a)within 45 calendar days of the receipt of a complete application. If the Department of General Services requests an applicant to submit a corrected application, the Department of General Services shall act on the corrected application within 10 calendar days of the date the applicant submits the corrected complete application to that department for approval.
