Section 1003 of the 21st Century Cures Act ( 42 U.S.C. 290ee–3a ) is amended— in subsection (f)— in paragraph (2), by striking ; and and inserting a semicolon; in paragraph (3), by striking the period and inserting ; and ; and by adding at the end the following: an assessment of the challenges of such recipients in addressing opioid misuse and use disorders and, as applicable and appropriate, stimulant misuse and use disorders, accounting for variations in implementation of the grant funds. ; and in subsection (g)— in the subsection heading, by inserting after and best practices ;
Technical assistance by striking with technical assistance and inserting “with— technical assistance ; and by striking the period at the end and inserting ; and ; and by adding at the end the following: best practices on how to address opioid-related overdoses. .
