Section 139(b)(4)(A) of the National and Community Service Act of 1990 ( 42 U.S.C. 12593(b)(4)(A) ) is amended— by striking An individual and inserting the following: An individual ; by striking or section 153(d) ; and by adding at the end the following: An individual in an approved national service position in a program under section 152(a) may, upon the approval of the Director of the National Civilian Community Corps, continue in a term of service for up to 180 days beyond the period otherwise specified in section 153(d) or 90 days beyond the period otherwise specified in section 154(c). .
