Sec. 233. Provision of data on educational assistance programs of Veterans Health Administration

Beginning not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Veterans Affairs shall provide to the Committee on Veterans’ Affairs of the Senate and the Committee on Veterans’ Affairs of the House of Representatives data on graduate medical education programs, health profession scholarship programs, and any other educational assistance programs within the Veterans Health Administration. The data required to be provided under subsection
(a)shall include, for each program, the following: The number of active participants, broken down by position or expected future position or licensure. The amount of funds spent each fiscal year. The number of participants who have completed their education and are currently completing their service requirements at the Department of Veterans Affairs. The number of participants who were previously active in the program but left the program before completing their education or service requirement during the year preceding the date on which the data is provided. An overview of outreach by the Department to prospective participants in the program. Such other information as the Secretary considers appropriate. The data required to be provided under subsection (a)— shall be updated not less frequently than annually; and may be submitted to the Committee on Veterans’ Affairs of the Senate and the Committee on Veterans’ Affairs of the House of Representatives as part of another report required by law.
