Section 1035 of the John S. McCain National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2019 ( Public Law 115–232 ; 132 Stat. 1954), as most recently amended by section 1043 of the Servicemember Quality of Life Improvement and National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2025 ( Public Law 118–159 ), is further amended— by inserting
(a)before In general .— No amounts ; by striking December 31, 2025 and inserting December 31, 2026 ; by striking any individual detained in the custody or under the control of the Department of Defense at United States Naval Station, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and inserting any individual detained at Guantanamo ; and by adding at the end the following new subsection: In this section, the term individual detained at Guantanamo has the meaning given that term in section 1034(f)(2) of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2016 ( 10 U.S.C. 801 note; Public Law 114–92 ). .
