Section 1033 of the John S. McCain National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2019 ( Public Law 115–232 ; 132 Stat. 1953), as most recently amended by section 1041 of the Servicemember Quality of Life Improvement and National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2025 ( Public Law 118–159 ), is further amended— in the matter preceding paragraph (1), by striking December 31, 2025 and inserting December 31, 2026 ; and in paragraph (2), by striking is or was held on or after January 20, 2009 and inserting has been held since any date that is on or before October 1, 2009 .
