Sec. 1223. Extension and modification of Ukraine security assistance initiative

Section 1250 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2016 ( Public Law 114–92 ; 129 Stat. 1068) is amended— in subsection (c)— by redesignating paragraph
(6)as paragraph (5); and by adding at the end the following new paragraphs
(6)and (7): Amounts available in a fiscal year to carry out the authority in subsection
(a)may be used for programs under that authority that begin in such fiscal year and end not later than the end of the second fiscal year thereafter. The limitation in subsection (b)(2) of section 2571 of title 10, United States Code, shall not apply with respect to reimbursable support for the purpose of providing assistance under this section. ; in subsection (f), by adding at the end the following new paragraph: For fiscal year 2026, $500,000,000. ; and in subsection (h), by striking December 31, 2026 and inserting December 31, 2028 .
