The Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment shall carry out a program across all military departments to additively manufacture three commonly used metal parts of each military department, such as titanium, stainless steel, and aluminum. Not later than September 30, 2026, the Under Secretary shall— complete an assessment to determine how to additively manufacture 10 metal parts of each military department, with a preference for parts that require long lead times to manufacture or have sole-source suppliers; and submit to the congressional defense committees a report on the findings of the Under Secretary with respect to the assessment completed under paragraph (1).
