The Inspector General of the Department of Transportation shall initiate an audit of the FAA, including the FAA Whistleblower Protection Program, to review whether the FAA is appropriately processing and acting on submitted complaints. The audit conducted under paragraph
(1)shall not compromise the identity of any individual who submitted a report through the Whistleblower Protection Program or the FAA Hotline of the FAA Office of Audit and Evaluation. Not later than 60 days after the date of enactment of this section, the Inspector General of the Department of Transportation shall submit to the appropriate committees of Congress a report containing the results of the audit conducted under subsection (a), together with recommendations for such legislation and administrative action as the Inspector General determines appropriate.
