The Secretary, acting through the Chief of the Natural Resources Conservation Service and in coordination with the Chief of the Forest Service, shall establish a formal initiative on white oak trees— to reestablish white oak forests where appropriate; to improve the management of existing white oak forests to foster natural regeneration of white oak trees; to provide technical assistance to private landowners to reestablish, improve the management of, and naturally regenerate white oak trees; to improve and expand white oak nursery stock; and to adapt and improve white oak seedlings.
The authority under this section terminates on the date that is 7 years after the date of enactment of this Act.
