During the one-year period beginning on the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of the Navy may not take any action to disestablish the Navy Expeditionary Combat Command Pacific located at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of the Navy (or a designee of the Secretary) shall provide to the Committees on Armed Services of the Senate and the House of Representatives a briefing on— the status of the decision of the Secretary with respect to the disestablishment of the Navy Expeditionary Combat Command Pacific; and the strategic rationale, cost, and benefits of such disestablishment.
