Section 11419 of the Don Young Coast Guard Authorization Act of 2022 ( Public Law 117–263 ; 136 Stat. 4126) is amended— in subsection (a), by striking this Act and all that follows through strategy and inserting the Coast Guard Authorization Act of 2026, the Commandant shall develop a detailed written strategy ; in subsection (b)— by redesignating paragraph
(7)as paragraph (8); and by inserting after paragraph
(6)the following: A detailed written action plan and timeline for implementing improvements to the quality of life for members of the Coast Guard at remote units. ; by redesignating subsections
(c)and
(d)as subsections
(e)and (f), respectively; by inserting after subsection
(b)the following: The Commandant shall make the strategy developed under subsection
(a)available to the public on an internet website of the Coast Guard. The Commandant shall oversee the implementation of the strategy developed under subsection (a), including the action plan described in paragraph
(7)of that subsection. ; and by amending subsection (e), as redesignated, to read as follows: Not later than 30 days after the strategy developed under subsection
(a)is completed, and annually thereafter for 3 years, the Commandant shall provide the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation of the Senate and the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure of the House of Representatives with a briefing, in person and in writing, on— the elements of the strategy; the status of the implementation of the action plan described in subsection (a)(7); the timeline for implementation of each of the elements of such action plan; and any barriers to the implementation of such action plan. .
