Section 11272(c) of the James M. Inhofe National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2023 ( Public Law 117–263 ; 136 Stat. 4066) is amended— in paragraph (5)— by striking House and inserting House of Representatives ; and by striking vessel and inserting Coast Guard vessel ; by transferring paragraph
(5)to appear as subsection
(b)of section 564 of the title 14, United States Code; and by redesignating paragraph
(6)as paragraph (5). The Commandant shall brief the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation of the Senate regarding the cost incurred by the Coast Guard to meet the requirements of section 564 of title 14, United States Code, as amended by this section, during— fiscal year 2024 and fiscal year 2025, not later than 30 days after the date of enactment of this Act; and fiscal year 2026, not later than November 1, 2026. Section 564(a)(2) of title 14, United States Code, is amended by striking the comma after paragraph
(1).
