Sec. 631. Improved parental leave for members of the armed forces

Section 701(h)(1)(B) of title 10, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following new clause: The regulations prescribed under clause
(i)shall authorize a member described in such clause to take leave described under subparagraph
(A)during the two-year period beginning after an event described in clause
(i)or
(ii)of such subparagraph with the approval of the first general officer or flag officer in the chain of command of such member. . Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this section, the Secretary of Defense shall— prescribe regulations under subparagraph
(B)of section 701(h)(1) of title 10, United States Code, to implement the amendment made by subsection (a); and submit to the Committees on Armed Forces of the Senate and House of Representatives a report regarding the implementation of this section.
