Section 1(c) of the State Department Basic Authorities Act of 1956 ( 22 U.S.C. 2651a(c) ), as amended by section 5402, is further amended by inserting after paragraph
(15)the following: There shall be in the Department of State an Assistant Secretary for Diplomatic Security who shall be responsible to the Secretary of State, acting through Under Secretary for Management, for matters relating to the management, direction, and strategic execution of the Bureau of Diplomatic Security, and such other related duties as the Secretary may from time to time designate. .
