Section 2 of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act ( 29 U.S.C. 3101 ) is amended— in paragraph (1), by striking support services and inserting supportive services ; in paragraph (2), by inserting , for youth and adults, after economic development systems ; in paragraph (6), by striking of the workforce, reduce welfare dependency, and inserting of the workforce, provide economic mobility, reduce dependency on public assistance programs, ; and by adding at the end the following:
To prepare a globally competitive workforce by developing robust education and skills development programs for youth to access career pathways that will lead such youth into in-demand industry sectors and occupations. .
