Section 401(b)(1) of the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 ( 8 U.S.C. 1611(b)(1) ) is amended— by striking subparagraphs (B), (D), and (E); and by redesignating subparagraph
(C)as subparagraph (B). Section 431(b) of the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 ( 8 U.S.C. 1641(b) ) is amended— by striking paragraphs (2), (4), and (5); and by redesignating paragraphs (3), (6), (7), and
(8)as paragraphs (2), (3), (4), and (5), respectively. Section 411(a) of the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 ( 8 U.S.C. 1621(a) ) is amended— in paragraph (1), by striking the comma at the end and inserting , or ; in paragraph (2), by striking or at the end; and by striking paragraph (3). Section 402(a)(2)(A) of the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 ( 8 U.S.C. 1612(a)(2)(A) ) is amended— in the subparagraph heading, by striking ; and asylees by striking clauses
(ii)and (iii); and by redesignating clauses
(iv)and
(v)as clauses
(ii)and (iii), respectively. Section 403(b)(1) of the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 ( 8 U.S.C. 1613(b)(1) ) is amended— in the paragraph heading, by striking ; and asylees by striking subparagraphs

(E)as subparagraphs

Section 412 of the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 ( 8 U.S.C. 1622 ) is amended— in subsection (a)— by striking , a nonimmigrant and inserting or a nonimmigrant ; and by striking , or an alien who is paroled into the United States under section 212(d)(5) of such Act for less than one year ; and in subsection (b)(1)— in the paragraph heading, by striking ; and asylees by striking subparagraphs
(B)and (C); and by redesignating subparagraphs
