Section 401 of the Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act of 1959 ( 29 U.S.C. 481 ) is amended— in subsection (a)— by striking either ; and by striking or at a convention of delegates chosen by secret ballot ; and in subsection (d), by striking or by labor organization officers representative of such members who have been elected by secret ballot . The amendments made by this Act shall take effect on the date that is 18 months after the date of enactment of this Act.
