Title I of the National Security Act of 1947 ( 50 U.S.C. 3021 et seq. ) is amended by adding at the end the following new section: The head of each element of the intelligence community specified in subsection
(b)shall designate a senior official of such element to serve as the official responsible for the activities of such element relating to biotechnology. The elements of the intelligence community specified in this subsection are the following: The Office of the Director of National Intelligence. The Central Intelligence Agency. The National Security Agency. The Defense Intelligence Agency. The intelligence elements of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The Office of Intelligence and Counterintelligence of the Department of Energy. The Bureau of Intelligence and Research of the Department of State. The Office of Intelligence and Analysis of the Department of Homeland Security. Not later than 15 days after designating a senior official under this section, the head of the element of the intelligence community designating such official shall submit to the congressional intelligence committees notice of the designation. . The head of each element of the intelligence community required to designate a senior official of such element under section 123 of the National Security Act of 1947, as added by subsection
(a)of this section, shall designate such senior official not later than 90 days after the date of the enactment of this Act.
