Section 455(m)(2) of the Higher Education Act of 1965 ( 20 U.S.C. 1087e(m)(2) ), as amended by the preceding provisions of this Act, is further amended by inserting after subparagraph
(D)the following: With respect to determining the number of qualifying monthly payments for a borrower seeking loan forgiveness under this subsection who consolidates one or more Direct Loans into a Direct Consolidation Loan, including a Direct PLUS Loan made to a parent borrower, the Secretary shall use the weighted average of the payments the borrower made on the Direct Loans prior to consolidating that met the criteria under this subsection. .
