Not later than 180 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the Commandant shall provide to the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation of the Senate and the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure of the House of Representatives a briefing on— the status of the acquisition and procurement of second-generation Special Purpose Craft – Heavy Weather (SPC–HWX II) vessels; the timeline for the deployment of such vessels to stations in the Pacific Northwest previously served by the first-generation Special Purpose Craft – Heavy Weather vessels; and any outstanding barriers to the timeliness of such deployment.
