Section 1814(a)(7)(D)(i)(II) of the Social Security Act ( 42 U.S.C. 1395f(a)(7)(D)(i)(II) ) is amended by striking during the emergency period and all that follows through September 30, 2025 and inserting the following: during and after the emergency period described in section 1135(g)(1)(B) . Not later than 3 years after the date of enactment of this Act, the Comptroller General of the United States shall submit to Congress a report evaluating the impact of section 1814(a)(7)(D)(i)(II) of the Social Security Act ( 42 U.S.C. 1395f(a)(7)(D)(i)(II) ), as amended by subsection (a), on— the number and percentage of beneficiaries recertified for the Medicare hospice benefit at 180 days and for subsequent benefit periods, to the extent such data is available;
Federal oversight of the appropriateness for hospice care of the patients recertified through the use of telehealth; and any other factors determined appropriate by the Comptroller General.
