Sec. 2872. Study and report on certain investments in critical infrastructure in Hawaii

Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this section, the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Energy, Installations, and Environment and the Commander of the United States Indo-Pacific Command shall carry out a joint study to assess the critical infrastructure investments in Hawaii across each military department and submit to Congress a report with respect to such study that includes— an identification of existing infrastructure as of the date of the enactment of this section deemed as critical for potential conflict-related needs for military operations in the Indo-Pacific region, disaggregated by— military infrastructure; and civilian infrastructure; estimated future requirements for military infrastructure in the Indo-Pacific region based on mission growth and evolving threats; and a prioritized list of military construction projects planned to be carried out during the five-year period beginning on the date of the submission of the report that the Assistant Secretary and the Commander determine are critical to potential conflict-related needs that includes, for each such military construction project, an identification of— the estimated total cost; the location; and the military department concerned.
