Subsection
(a)of section 3 of the Advancing Research to Prevent Suicide Act ( 42 U.S.C. 1862v ) is amended— in paragraph (4), by striking and after the semicolon; by redesignating paragraph
(5)as paragraph (7); and by inserting after paragraph
(4)the following new paragraphs: basic understanding of the role of adverse childhood experiences; basic understanding of the role of toxic stress in childhood; and .
